Sir
The Resignation of the Treasurership of this Hospital by Mr. Jeffreis
& the Election of Abel Chapman< no role > Esqr . to succeed him. you are already
acquainted withThe Treasurer House not being completely fitted
up the latter Gentleman is not yet come to reside & money us &
therefore, tell he is a little able to lock into Matters, he defers
Writing to the Country Agents. The Prevent is to request that you
will inform the Teer and as mansworth (for I think Mr. Stevens
has guilted the farm & I do not know the Name of her Successor)
that by a Resolution of the Grand Committee the Rent of the
Hospital farms are ordered to be paid within half a year
after they become due that is the Rent due as Lady day should
be paid rather before michmas, & so on; & in this, the Committee
expert the Tenants to be punctuate. And here it becomes necessary
for me to engine whether the present Tenant hold att the same
Rent as Mr. Stevens did, or whither you entered into any
Agreement with him; the late Treasurer gave me no Information
her do I find any Letters or Papers that this weight on the Subject
You will be aware that the present Treasurer will sand in need
of a deal of Particular & local Information, respecting the take
& Circumstances of the farms; but as it is hen Intention as soon
as he concurrently can, to take to a Veen of all the Coventry Estates,
it well then be & he proper Time to ask & receive the request
Information. It may Lorsever be useful for you to give the
Tenants a Hent that when the Treasurer takes a Survey he
expects to fixed the Buildings upon their farms in good & decent
Condition.Mr. Salter has assigned his Lease to Mr.
Backe, but as he remains the Hospital Tenant tell Nicks.
well you be so good as to remind him that the Lady day
Rent should now be payed.

I informed You some Time ago that Your Lease was
ready for delivery whenever you would call for it.It is new
my duty to tell your that the half Years Rent due at Lady day
ought to have been paid as or before Mictimas according to the
order of the Grace Committee. I hope, very [..] see your for
this Purpose.

This serves to acknowledge the Receipt of your letter if
the 22d. inclosing a Bill (due 30 Inp) on Sir James Edwards & Co.
for £300. which will be placed to your Credit on Accot. of
Rents

M. Mr. Jeffries told me [..] the plan of the Mansworth Estate: if you do
not want it, at some convenient Opportunity you will [..] to breag [..] Vizt.
