the Time. it as taken as the former years, but admitting a Variation
afterward appear at [..] a Puzzle. From some such Cause
there are several Accounts upon the ledger which neither the late
Treasurer not myself could investigate, & which will make it
necessary to write of a Part if the Balances as Erors
Exuse me Sir for having said so much upon the Subject: I have done
it to others you that if it is Possible to send up your Account before
Xmas in every Year, it will to [..] rebate very much to present the
Mistakes which have heretofore cressent the Accounts, & is must
be a great Satisfaction to an Accountant to have nothing upon his
Accounts but what is captu [..] & intelligeble

I am directed to inform you that Yesterday at a
Grand Committee of this Hospital your Memorial wartaken
into Consideration, & is not appearing that your former Applica-
-tion (to which you refer) after the Loss you state had been recently
suffered, was then thought of Moment enough to be entered upon
their Minutes, to keep it above; & it moreover appearing to
the Committee that as Trustees for a great public charitable
Institution there can be no Claim upon them to compensate
you for a loss which was our named from your own Negligence
in not keeping up a proper Insurance on the Premises, they have
thought proper to refers the Prayer if Your Petition.

Your Letter met Mr. Cromwell at the Hospital then Morning
where, by Apprentices, Mr Stocheld also came.I was not
present it the Conference, but the Result is a determination on the
Part of the Treasurer to levy a distress for the Arrears of rent as
soon as we have ascertained it. By your last Account Mr.
Stocheld has paid to Lady day 1798, at is the Letters lately
received from you, you have not said whether he has made
any Subsequent Payments. Will your therefore be so good
as to inform me, by the Return of Part, what Mr. Stochelds Arrears
actually are, as upon the Ascertainment of this Pocer a properly
authorized Person will be seat of to take the legal Measures to
secure the Hospitals demand.The Treasure has also Suggested
a With that you will, by the first convenient Opportunity, let been
know the Stab of the Arrears of the other Tenants under your
Collection, as several of their appear by your last Account
