At the General Quarter Session of the Peace of our Lord the King
holden for the County of Middlesex at Hicks Hall in Saint John Street
in the said County (by Adjournment) on Thursday the Third day
May in the Fourth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George
the Third King of Great Britain Etc Before Thomas Lane< no role > George Errington< no role >
Stephen Clarke< no role > Benjamin Cowley< no role > Esquires and others their Fellows Justices of our
said Lord the King Assigned to keep his Majestys Peace in the said
County and also to hear and Determine divers Felonies Trespasses
and other Misdemeanors committed in the same County

Whereas the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of Saint George
Bloomsbury in the County of Middlesex Have Exhibited their Petition and Appeal to this
Court Setingforth that by Virtue of a Pass Warrant or Order under the hands and Seals of
John Hawkins< no role > and Jos. Keeling< no role > Esquires two of his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
said County (one whereof being of the Quorum) bearing date the Sixth day of April last
Thomas Thornton< no role > was removed from and out of the Parish of Saint Sepulchre in the said
County to the said Parish of Saint George Bloomsbury as the place of his last legal
Settlement Whereby the Petitioners conceived themselves to be aggrieved Now upon
hearing of the said Petition in the Presence and hearing of the said Churchwardens and
Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Sepulchre and they consenting to the
Allowing of the said Appeal It is Ordered by this Court that the said Appeal be and the
same is hereby Allowed and the said Pass Warrant or Order of the Said two Justices is
hereby Quashed and Vacated And it is further Ordered that the said Churchwardens and
Overseers of the poor of the said Parish of Saint George Bloomsbury do forthwith Convey
and Deliver back the said Thomas Thornton< no role > (together with a Copy of this Order) to
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Parish of Saint Sepulchre
who are hereby required to receive and provide for the said Thomas Thornton< no role > until
they can Free themselves from the Charge thereof by due Course of Law.
