The Following Report from the Committee appointed for the immediate
and effectual repair of New Prison and Clerkenwell Bridewell being
laid before this Court and the same being read article by article vizt.
[To his Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middlesex in their
General Quarter Session Assembled. [The Report of the Committee of his
Majestys Justice of the Peace for the Cou [..] of Middlesx appointed for theto carry into immediate and effectual
Execution the repair of New Prison and Clerkenwell Bridewell . [The said Committee
report [That in pursuance of the orders of referrence to them made the
said Committee have completed the several alterations in Clerkenwell
Bridewell in respect to the separating the Tap from the Prison. And
that having taken into consideration the letting the said Tap referred
to this Committee on the County Day of the last Session they do
recommend it to the court to let the said Tap to Mr Edward Hall< no role > the
Governor of the said House of Correction at the clear yearly rent of Forty
pounds to take place from Michaelmas last to be paid Quarterly he
consenting to serve the Prisoners with Liquors and Viands in the same
manner and on the like Terms as the prisoners at New Prison are served
Mr Hall having agreed to take the same upon such terms

[And the said Committee report that Mr Hall having Petitioned
the Committee That as the Tap is now removed out of the Prison and the
Justices except a Rent for it, which Tap was before in his possession and the
benefit arising there from enjoyed by him in like manner with his
Predecessors without the payment of any Rent for the same the Justices
would be pleased to put him upon the same footing with the Keeper of
New Prison in respect to making good the Loss which he should sustain
by the Tap being thus taken out of the Prison and let and allow him
forty pounds a year for such Loss. The Committee do recommend that
the Court do allow Mr Hall twenty pounds per annum only as an
equivalent for the advantages he would have had from the Tap
continuing in the prison in his possession in manner aforesaid

[A Motion was made That this part of the Report of the Committee
of Repairs be referred back to the said Committee for their further
consideration thereof; and the same being agreed to It is ordered that
so much of the said Report as aforesaid be and the same is hereby
referred back to the said Committee for their further consideration
accordingly

And the said Committee Report that having taken into Consideration
the Petition of Henry Adams< no role > This name instance is in set 1591. Contractor for the conveying Vagrants
in this and out of the County of Middlesex for an augmentstion
