Order of Appointmt.
Should to the Overseers
[..] said}

Whereas by an Act of Parliament lately passed Intituled an
Act of authorize for a limited time the Punishment by hard
labour of offenders who for certain Crimes [..] or shall become
liable to be Transported to any of his Majesty's Colonies or
Plantations: His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex at their Quarter or other General Sessions
of the Peace are directed to appoint an Overseer or Overseers to
take the Management and directions of such Male persons
as by virtue of and pursuant to the said Statute shall at any
Session of Oyer and Terminer or Goal delivery or at any Quarter
or other General Session of the Peace for any County Riding
Division City Liberty Borough Town or place within that part
of Great Britain Called England or any Court held for the same
place with like authority be ordered and adjudged to be punished
by being kept to hard Labour in the raising Sand Soil and
Gravel from and Cleansing the River Thames or any other
Service for the Benefit of the Navigation of the said River for
such Term of Years as such Male person shall by such
Court and Courts as aforesaid be respectively ordered and adjudged
by virtue therefore of the Powers and Authority in the said Act
contained, this Court doth appoint Duncan Campbell< no role > of
London Merchant and Neil Campbell< no role > of Deptford in the
County of Kent Gentleman [..] Overseers pursuant to the
directions of the said Act and the said Duncan Campbell< no role >
and Neil Campbell< no role > are hereby appointed Overseers accordg

Session of the Peace assembled to reelect Sir John Hawkins< no role > Kings
Chairman of the General and General Quarter Sessions of the
Peace for this County for and during the Half year now next
ensuing

The Clerk of the Peace informed the Court that Abraham
Bailey
< no role > Esqr one of his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for this
County had desired him to communicate to the Session that
Government had disposed of Ely House in Holborn to a Mr
Cole and that Mr. Cole was willing to let the Justices have
a sufficient part of the ground whereon to erect a Session
House Whereupon it was moved and Seconded and resolved
that the Committee appointed on the Seventh day of Decr.
last to enquire after a proper piece of Ground whereon to erect
