his Majesty's Justices of the Peace for this County assembled
in this present General Session of the Peace do unanimously
reelect and continue John Hawkins< no role > Esqr Chairman of the
General Quarter and General Sessions of the Peace for this
County for and during the half Year now next Ensuing.

Order of Reference
of pass Orders Etc.

Whereas by an Order of General Session of the Peace
made on Thursday the 1st. day of March 1759. the High
Constables of this County are among other things required
to deliver to the Treasurer of this County all such Orders
for Conveying and Orders for Rewards for apprehending
Vagabonds as shall be in their hands twice every Year at
least vizt. at april and October Quarter Sessions and the
said Treasurer is directed not to receive into his account any
Orders not delivered at the times above mentioned without
special Order of Court And Whereas it is now represented to
this Court that George Elliott< no role > Gentleman High Constable of
the Torver Division within Court hath applied to James
Jefferson Treasurer of this County to receive into his account
divers Orders for Conveying and for rewards for apprehending
Vagabonds which not having been delivered in due time the
said Treasurer could not receive without special Order of this
Court and Whereas upon inspection of the said Orders for
Rewards and Conveyance many of them appear in some
respects irregular but the same having nevertheless been duly
paid and allowed for by the said High Constable to James
Cancy Gentleman late High Constable and to several petty
Constables since It is therefore referred to the Committee of
Justices of the Peace for this County who shall meet at Hicks
Hall the Tenth day of March next on certain other matters
to them referred then and there to Examine and consider of
the said present High Constable demand and they are
desired to report their Opinion on the County day of the next
Session, touching the allowance or disallowance there of.
