At Westminster the 11th. Day of October 1750.

Order for appointing Mr.
Henry Walbank< no role > Keeper
of New Prison at Clerkenwell
until anothor keepeshall
be appointed.}

His Majestys Justices of the Peace for the County of Middx assembled
at this present General Quarter Session of the Peace now holden for the
Said County do nominate and appoint Henry Walbank< no role > of the Parish of
James Clerkenwell in the Place and Stead of Mr. Thomas Cowenagh< no role > deceased
late Keeper of the Said Prison To Euter upon and take Possession of
the Said Prison and to receive into his Custody all the Prisoners there
in being and the Committments of the Said Prisoners and Safely to keep
the Said Prisoners and Other Prisoners which Shall be Committed to
his Custody untill Legally discharged And to Execute the Office of Keeper
of New Prison aforesaid and to receive he Feesand Profits thereof
to his own Use Untill Thursday the Sixth Day of December next and
untill another Keeper of the Said Prison Shall be appointed.

By adjournment on Thursday the eighteenth day of
October 1750.

It is ordered by this Court that the Cryer of this Courter his Deputy
do give due Notice to all his Majesy's Justices of the Peace of the
County of Middx ( who have registred their Estates) to acquaint
them that they are desired to meet at Hicks hall in St. John Street
on Thursday the Sixth day of December next at eleven of the
Clock in the forenoon to elect and appoint a Keeper of New
Prison at Clerken well in the Place and Stead of Mr. Thomas
Cavenagh deceased late Keeper of the Said Prison.

Whereas the Office or Place of Keeper of New Prison at
Clerkenwell in this County is vacant by the death of Mr. Thomas
Cavenagh deceased late Keeper of the Said Prison, And this
Court having Ordered that Notice be given to all his Majesty< no role > 's
Justices of the Peace of this County to meet at Hicks hall in St.
John Street on Thursday the Sixth day of December next at
eleven of the Clock in the forenoon to elect and appoint a
Keeper of the Said Prison in the place and Stead of the Said
Thomas Cavenagh< no role > , This Court being of opinion that a Comittee
of his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the Peace Should in the mean time meet
together and consider of a proper Appointment for Constituting
a New Keeper of the said Prison, and concerning other Matters
herein after mentioned Doth order that it be And It is hereby
recomended and referred unto Thomas Lane< no role > Esqr . The Right
