Order for the Committee
of Accounts to inspect &
adjust the Accounts of
Mr: John Higgs< no role > Treasurer
of Middx according to the
direction of a former
Order made in July
Sessions 1740}

It is Ordered by this Court that it be And It is hereby recomended
& referred unto the Committee of his Majesty< no role > 's Justices of the
peace for this County (appointed to State & adjust the
publick Accounts of the Said County) or any three of them to
meet at Hicks hall in St. John Street in this County on
Wednesday the twenty fourth day of September instant at
nine of the clock in the forenoon and at Such other times as
they Shall in this behalf appoint to inspect & adjust the
Accounts of Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer of this County as to
the moneys by him reced as Treasurer and his disbursements
thereout And further to proceed concerning the Accounts
of the Said Treasurer in Such manner as by a former Order
made in July Sessions last concerning the Said Accounts
is Specifyed & directed to the end of Same may be
Settled by the Committee in Order to be entred in proper books
to be left with the Clerk of the peace of this County, And to
the intent that the Said Accounts may be Settled by the Said
Committee the Said Treasurer is to produce before them at
their Said Meetings the Report of the honble. House of
Commons and also his accounts of moneys by him reced
& disbursed as by the Said former order is directed And the
Said Committee is desired to make their Report in writing
touching the premisses as by the Same Order is also
mentioned unto the Court of the next General Quarter Session
of the peace for this County on the County day of the Same
Session.

Whereas John Daniel< no role > Deputy Cryer of the General Quarter &
General Sessions of the peace for this County petitioned the
Court in July Sessions last praying that an allowance might be
made to him for his great trouble & expences in attending
the Justices of the peace of the Said County to Sign a Petition
to Parliament about the deficiency of the Laws relating
to raising collecting & levying of County Rates, and for other
matters mentioned in the aforesaid petition of the Said John
Daniel
< no role > alledging that he had no allowance for the Same
from Mr. Thomas Northcote< no role > the Cryer of the Session, the
matters of which petition was by Order of the Said Court
referred unto the Committee of his Majesty's Justices of
