aforesaid part of Chertsea Bridge , whose receipt together with
this Order Shall be a Sufficient discharge to the Said Treasurer

Whereas By an Order made at the General Quarter Session of the
peace holden for this County in the Month of April last It was
amongst other things) recomended to the Committee of his
Majesty's Justices of the peace for this County herein after named
(to wit) Thomas Lane< no role > Nicholas Jeffreys< no role > Thomas Pindar< no role > Simon
Michell Robert Tothill< no role > Thomas Dummer< no role > Theodore Smith< no role >
John Lawton< no role > Nathaniel Blackerby< no role > Richard Farwell Jacob
Harvey Barwell< no role > Smith Anthony Chamberlain< no role > William
Browning Robert Hinde< no role > John Elliott< no role > This name instance is in set 3963. William Hayton< no role >
Honorat Smith< no role > & Anthony Wroth< no role > Esquires or any three of
them to take a view of the House of Correction ar Clerkenwell
in this County and of the Dwelling house & appurtenances
thereunto belonging, and to give directions relating to the
repairing thereof, the Same having been Some time Since
presented by the Grand Jury of this County to be very much
out of repair. Now upon information given unto this Court by
the Said Mr. Michell that Several Workmen have been directed by
a Quorum of the Said Committee to repaire the House of
Correction & premisses aforesaid, and to find and provide good
and proper materials to be used in & about the Same, And that
the Workmen havebeenmade a considerable progress in
doing the Said repaires, but that the Same are not yet finished
And that it is necessary that money Should be advanced to the
workmen on account of the Said repaires and to carry on the
Same It is Ordered by this Court that Mr. John Higgs< no role > Treasurer
of this County do pay any Sum or Sums of money not
exceeding Seventy pounds in the whole on account of the
repairs aforesaid to such person or persons as the Said Committee
or any three of them Shall by any writing or writings by them
Signed under their hands direct & appoint, And that the receipts
of Such person or persons together with Such writing or
writings and this Order Shall be Sufficient discharges to the Said
Treasurer for Such payment or payments, And after the
finishing of the Said repaires the Said Committee are desired to
take a view thereof and to See that Such repaires are well &
Sufficiently done with good materials in a Substantial &
workman like manner, And to make a Report thereof and of what
Shall be due to each workman on account of the repaires aforesaid
unto the Court of the next Session of the peace for this County after
Such repaires Shall be finished & compleated.
