and Seven pence to four pounds Sixteen Shillings the said
Robert Pilkinton< no role > from two pounds twelve Shillings and
Seven pence to one pound fifteen Shillings the Said James
Jngall from four pounds one Shilling and nine pence half
Perry to three pounds three Shillngs the said Robert Chester< no role >
from Sixteen Shillings and four pence to nine Shillings The Said Elias Hnons< no role > twelve Shillings to nine Shillings and
which the said several persons above named did Consent
to take in full of their Demands And it appears to us that
the said John Clarke< no role > only produced severall orders from the
Justice to the Treasurer requiring him to pay the Money
without any pass Warrants or receits for the Vagrants
Therefore Your Comittee did not proceed on the said John
Clarkes Demands but Submitts the same to the Court to do
therein as they shall think fitting And that the said Henry
Boulton
< no role > produced before us severall Certificates for the passing
of Vagrants wherein there is no Sumes of money mentioned
in the said Certificate of allowances which your Comittee also
submitts to the Court to do therein as they shall think fitting
And that there is due to Daniel Kemp< no role > late High Constable
the Sume of two pounds ten Shillings which he has paid to
petty Constables for the passing of Vagrants and that
severall petty Constables of the parish of St. Gyles in the Fields
appeared before your said Comittee and Claimed the severall
Sumes of money mentioned in the paper hereunto annexed
But your Comittee informed the severall persons then attending
that the parish of St Giles in the Fields had not paid towards
any Publick rates for many Years last past and that there was
due from the said Parish of St. Giles in the Fields to the said County
above two hundred pounds Therefore your Comittee Submitts
to the Court Whether the said Demands ought to be paid That your
Comittee taking into consideration the severall Demands of the
severall petty Constables for the passing of Vagrants since the
New Act of Parliament has been in force where no Provision is
made who shall pay the same and are of opinion that the
same ought to be paid by John Higgs< no role > your Treasurer in Whose
hands the money is paid untill the first day of June next
when another Act of Parliament takes place which appoints
the High Constables to pay the same and your Comittee
Submitts to the Court whether the said Mr. Higgs Should not have a
Generall Order to pay all Demandants where they produce and
leave with the said John Higgs< no role > the Certificates and allowances of
the Justices of the peace with a Receit from the Constable Where
the Vagrant or Vagrants are passed and that no more money is
allowed by any Justices of the peace for the passing such Vagrants
than by the Order of the said Court is settled and stated for such
allowance, And that the Receit of such Demandant to the said John
Higgs shall be a good Discharge for such payment; All which we
humbly Submit to the Judgment of this Court.
