Nathaniel Blackerby< no role > John Meard< no role > Alexander Chocke< no role > and
Richard Farwell< no role > Esqr . four of his Maties Justices of the peace
for this County named in the Said Order have by their Report in
writing under their hands Reported unto this Court That they
have in pursuance of the Said Order met at the time and place
in the Said Order menconed and at Severall other times to take
the Severall matters and things to them referred into consideracon
And do find upon their view that the Hay-Market in the
parishes of St. Martin in the fields & St. James Westmr. in the Said
County is in a very ruinous condicon, there being many places
on the East Side in holes tho' the Same has been endeavoured to
be put in repaire with pebles, and a large Sume of money laid
out thereon within these few years, and the West Side where the
carts Stand (in many places) is not passable without danger to
his Maties Subjects, And that they have likewise examined and
Stated the Accounts of the Lord William Powlett< no role > lately deced
and John Ellis< no role > Esqr . the Surviving Treasurer of the Said Hay-
Market from Midsumer 1725 to Christmas 1729 being four
years and an half, to which time they find the accounts of
the Treasurers were last passed, And find that the money in
hand, and the toll Since Midsumer 1725 amounted to £479 out
of which £22..8s..11d. has been paid in part of the debt due to the
Executive of Mr. Offley late Treasurer , and £20. paid by Order of
Sessions to William Cotesworth< no role > Esqr . Treasurer of this County
in further part of the Said debt, That there has been laid out in
the repair of the pavement within the Said time the Sume of
£409..0s..6d. of which there is Still remaining due and
unsatisfyed a debt to Mr. Browne the pavior of £78..3s..0d. That
the person employed by the Said Treasurers has been allowed
a Salary of £20. P Ann, which for the time aforesaid
amounted to £88..11s..0d. of which £67..11s..0d has been only
