Order for taking a
View of Brentford
Bridge Etc

Information being given unto this Court that a
publick Bridge called Brentford Bridge in this
County (which hath been usually and ought to be
Repaired at the charge of the Inhabitants of
this County) is very much out of Repair, and that
it is necessary that the same should be forthwith
repaired It is Ordered by this Court that it be And
It is hereby recommended and referred unto

Sir William Ogborne< no role > Knight Robert Thornhill< no role >
William Cotesworth< no role > John Ellis< no role > Thomas West< no role >
Philip Willshire< no role > Charles Lockyer Thomas
Milner John Mercer< no role > James Harrison< no role > Richard
Gifford and William Ellis< no role > Esquires Justices of the
Peace for this County or any three or more of them
as a Committee to assemble and meet together,
and to take to their Assistance such able Workman
or Workmen as they shall think fit, and to take
a view of the said Bridge, and to see if the same
is out of Repair, and if any and what Repaires are
wanting and necessary to be done thereto, And if it
Shall appear upon such View that the said Bridge
is much out of repaire Then to consider whether in
their Judgement it will be better to have the said
Bridge repaired or to have a new Bridge of Stone
(to be built instead thereof) capable of admitting
two Carriages to pass by each other over Such new
Bridge and alsoe of haveing a convenient passage
for Foot Passengers over the Same And to inquire
and make an Estimate of what it will cost in either
Case, And to receive the Proposalls and Estimates of
Workmen in relation there unto, And to make their
Report in Writing touching the Premisses unto the Court
of the next Generall Quarter Sessions of the Peace
for this County on the County day of the Same Sessions
(to wit) Thursday the Sixteenth day of October next,
