by Collectors or Treasurers to accot. for paymt. over ye.
Moneys Collected, The Comittee conceive an Indictmt.
will lye against them for any default therein and
that this is the only Remedy against any Treasurers
who shall refuse to accot. to pay the Moneys Collected
according to the Order of the Sessions But the Comittee
are also of Opinion that the Treasurers for the time
being are answerable for all Sumes of Money
received by their Collectors, they being named and
chosen by the Treasurers & not by the Sessions in
case such Collectors prove insolvent, or refuse to
pay ever what they have received

Robberies

Your Comittee have likewise had under their
Consideracon the Rates for Robberies and tho'
these are not Strictly County Rates, but Rates on
the particular Hundreds only where in the Robberys
are Comitted and under the direccon of the Justices
who order'd those Rates to be made and are in
the nature of Treasurers , yet the Sessions have
usually Interposed so far as to examine the accots.
and take care that Justice be done to the County and
Hundreds affected with those Rates. We are not
informed of any Rate late by made except one Order'd
in the Year 1721. on the Hundred of Ossulston, towards
answering severall Robberyes there, of which Rate
Alexander Ward< no role > Esqr was Treasurer & by his Account
annexed it appears that the Rate was made to raise £200.
whereof £161.1s.6½d is already reced by him & £38.18s.11½d in
arrear from the severall parishes in his Accot. named
All which ought and as we believe may be Collected &
get in, but Mr. Ward having paid under several Orders
of Sessions produced to us with proper receipts to verifye
the paymts. 169 vizt. To Mr. Wm. Heyden< no role > 86. & to Mr.
John Vincent< no role > £83. in full of Several Roberies within
that Hundred, there remained due to Mr. Ward £7.19s.0 to
Ballance which is or will be made good to him out of
the Arrears, & if any Overplus Mr. Ward will be further
accountable for the Same when received.
