them in Case the Court shall be of Opinion to
allow £10. a Year, as Charged for Books paper
and a Clerk to Treasurers who examines weekly the
Collectors Accots. and posts them in a Book, but this
being a New Article never allowed or charged before
by any former Treasurers, we have it to be allow'd
or disallowed as shall be thought most convenient
and if that Article be allowed, then the Ballance
due to the Treasurers will be £43.7s.2d but if
disallowed, the ballance will be deducted to £33.7s.2d
We crave leave to observe also on this Account
that £130.13s.0d was laid out and paid for paving
in that Year, and that the Pavior charges 8s. a Tur
for Raggs and Flints, & 2.6 a Load for Gravell
wch. the Comittee have allowed for the time then
past because they were Imployed at those Rates
but from Easter 1723 the Pavior has agreed to take
7s. P Tun for Stones and 2s. a Load for Gravell
wch. prices the Comittee are of Opinion he may
deserve, if due care be taken by the Collector
to see the Stones weighed on the place, as they are
brought in and that the Gravell be brought in
Rakers or Scavengers Ca [..] s wch. holds near one
third more than the Comon Gravel Carts) as was
constantly done in the former, Pavior and Collector
time and wch. we humbly recomend as necessary
and that if the Court shall think fit, an Order of
Sessions be made for that purpose yor. Comittee
thought it their duty likewise to inspect the Statute
of the 8. & gth. W.B.C. 17. wch. is the only Law
relating to the Collecting of this Toll and find thereby
that 'tis to be paid to and Collected by such Persons
as shall be appointed by the Sessions & to be accoted.
for upon Oath in Easter Sessions and the Over plus
(if any) of this Toll may then be apply sd to any Uses
for the Benefitt of the County, as the Justices shall
think fitt, but there being no Penalties, nor any
particular remedy appointed in case of Refusall
