Order touching the
Viewing & repairing
such part of
Chertsea Bridge
as is in Middx Etc

Upon Information given unto this Court that such
part of Chertsea Bridge as is in this County is in great
decay for want of repair, And that it is very requisite
and necessary that the same should be forthwith
repaired, It is thought fit and Ordered by this Court
that it be And It is hereby recomended and referred
unto the Committee herein after named (vizt.) Sr.
Richard Reynell< no role > Baronet Sr. John Gouson< no role > Knight
Joseph Ayloff< no role > Leonard Streat< no role > James Clitheroe< no role >
John Offley< no role > Samuel Nicoll< no role > William Kingsford< no role >
Rupert Browne< no role > John Gumley< no role > John Venner< no role > John
Crookshank John Wilson< no role > Richard Woodward< no role > and
James Isaacson< no role > Esquires Justices of the Peace
for this County and such other Justices of the Peace
for the said County as shall think fit to be present
or any three or more of them to take to their
Assistance such able Workmen as they shall think
fit, and to take a View of such part of Chertsea
bridge aforesaid as is in this County, and to see if
the same is out of repairs, and if any and what
repaires are wanting and necessary to be done
thereto, And if it shall appear upon such View
that the same is out of repaire Then to make an
Estimate of what it will cost to repair the same and
to give proper Orders and Directions and take
care that the same be effectually repaired in a
Substantiall and Workmanlike manner, And this
Court doth declare that due care shall be taken
that not only the Expence of doing the said repaires
and finding materialls for that purpose but alsoe
such Moneys as are now due to any Workmen for
repaires formerly done to such part of the said
Bridge as is in this County shall be well and
truely paid and discharged, And it is further
Ordered by this Court that the Cryer of this Court
or his Agent do attend the said Committee of Justices
and give them due Notice of such time and place as
the Chairman of this Court shall appoint for their
