Upon reading the humble Petition of John Quiney Executor
of the last Will and Testament of Giles Quinny< no role > (late Governor
of the house of Correction at Clerkenwell ) his late Brother
deceased exhibited unto this Court setting forth that there
was one Years Salary due to his said Brother at Christmas
last amounting to the Sume of Sixty pounds, And that his
said Brother hath disbursed severall Sumes of money
in setting down a Pump and severall materialls in and
about the said Prison, which he hath not been reimbursed
to the value of Twenty pounds and upwards, And that the
Petitioner as an Assistant to his said late Brother hath
severall quantitys of Hemp and other Goods which
are yet unwrought, and by reason of his Household goods
being there fixed, It was prayed by the Petitioner that
this Court will be pleased to Order the payment of the
aforesaid Salary, and to appoint a Comittee to view
what his said Brother hath disbursed as aforesaid and
that he may have a reasonable time allowed him for
his removall being as yet unprovided for with a
house, and that he may have an allowance for the said
Pump and Goods, It is Ordered by this Court that it be
And It is hereby recomended and referred unto John
Fuller John Metcalfe< no role > John Ellis< no role > of Demark Street
Thomas Bardus< no role > D'Oyly Michel< no role > Robert Gay< no role > John
Storey Richard Browne< no role > William Dewe< no role > John Whetham< no role >
Isaac Tillard< no role > and Alexander Ward< no role > Esquires Justices of
the peace for this County or any five of them to assemble
and meet together at the said House of Correction at such
time or times as they shall appoint, and to inspect and
examine if any and what Sume or Sumes of money were
disbursed by the said Giles Quinny< no role > in or about the said
House of Correction which in their Judgment ought to be
allowed since the Order of Sessions for making him an
allowance bearing date the fourteenth day of May last
And also to examine if the Petitioner as Assistant to
his said Brother laid in any and what quantitys of
Hemp or other Goods which are yet unwrought, and
to ascertain if any and what time ought to be allowed
to the Petitioner for his removeall And to certify their
