Gumpey Humphery Eleazer the Defendant Maketh
Oath and saith that being in Custody in Tothill Fields Bridewell
and brought for thence this day to take his Tryal on an
Indictment preferred against him as above is Not prepared for
his Defence and more for Reason one Samuel Davis< no role > is a
Material Witness for this Deponent and who this Deponent is
informed is gone to Yarmouth and without whose Testimony this
Deponent cannot with safety proceed to Tryal and which this
Deponent Verily beleives to be true but beleives that the
said Samuel Davis< no role > will be in Town in about a Fortnight
