WHEREAS Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two of his Majesty's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and the Liberties thereof (Quorum
unus) by You the Churchwardens &. Overseers of
the Poor of the Parish of St. Leonards Forster Lane
London, ThatJohn Deacon< no role > & Elizabeth< no role > his Wife
your saidnot having obtained any
legal Settlement there, and are likely to become charge-
able thereto by reason of their Poverty
unless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of him the sd. John
Deacon that his last legall Settlement or place
of Abovte was in ye. sd Pish of St. Michael Woodstreet
Lond behaving about five & Twenty Yeares Since
Servd an Apprentice St. of Seven Yeares to & wth. one
William Hall< no role > of St. Michael Woodstreet Lond Joyener & hath
not obtaind any subsequent Settlement. We the said Ju-
stice are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge the last-
legal Settlement of the saidJohn Deacon & Elizabeth
his Wifeto be in the said
Parish of St. Michael Woodstreet Lond and
that thi thereto they ought by Law to be sent.

THESE are therefore in his-Majesty's Name to re-
quire You to remove and convey the said John Deacon &
Elizabeth his Wife
from and out of your said Parish of St. Leonards Forster
Lane London, to the saidParish of St. Michael
Wood Street Londandthemleave withye. Churchwardens
&Overseers of the Poor there, or one of them, who is and
are hereby required to receive and provide for them
according to Law. Hereof fail not, and this shall be your
Warrant. Given under our Hands and Seals the 3d
Day of February Anno Domini 1723
