The Humble Petition and Appealle of the Churchwardens
and Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Saint Michael
Woodstreet London.
Sheweth
That Whereas your Lordship and Sr:
Francis Forbes< no role >
Knt
. and Alderman
two of his Maties Justices of the Peace
for the said Citty by Order Dated ye. 3d: of February 1723
upon
the Complaint of the Churchwardens and Overseers of the poor
of the parish of St. Leonards Foster Lane
London have
adjudged the last Legall Settlement of
John Deacon< no role >
in the
said Order Named to be in the parish of St: Michael
Woodstreet
as haveing abt: Twenty five Yeares Since served
an Apprenticeship of Seaven yeares to and with One
William Hall< no role >
in that parish Joyner
and there upon have
Ordered the said John Deacon and
Elizabeth< no role >
his Wife
to be removed to (and to be provided for by) the parish
of Saint Michael Woodstreet
That your Petitioners Appretiend themselves
Agreed by the said Order for that the said John Deacon
hath no Legall Settlement in the said parrish of Saint
Michael Woodstreet
And therefore Do Humbly Appeale to this
Court Against the said Order, And pray the same may be
Discharged Or your Petitioners Otherwise releived as
this Honoble: Court shall think fitt.
And yr: Petitioners shall pray Etc
