Overseers of the Poor of the Parish of St. Mary
in the City of Chesterrespectively.

WHEREAS Complaint hath this Day been made
unto us two ofHisMajesty's Justices of the
Peace for this City, and the Liberties thereof (Quorum
unus) by Your the Churchwardens and Overseers of
the Poor of theParish of St. Dunstan in the West
London, That one Eleaner Ball< no role > the wife of Samuel Ball< no role >
with their Six Children (vizt William< no role > 14 years old Robert< no role > 12
years old Charles< no role > Nine years 8 old Judith< no role > Six years, Sarah< no role > 4
years & John< no role > one year & on half older there abouts are lately some
into and new resident in
your saidParish of St. Dunstannot having obtained any
legal Settlement there, andarelikely to become charge-
able thereto by reason ofthe Poverty and Imprisonment
of the said Samuel Ballunless timely prevented,
which Complaint we adjudge to be true. And forasmuch
as it appears unto us by the Oath of the said Samuel Ball that
about four years ago he was an Inhabitant & an House Keeper
in the Parish of St Mary in the City of Chester and paid Twelve
Pounds P Ann Rent for a house there wherein he continued
by the Space of Nine Months or thereabouts And that he
by any meanes whatsoever hath
not obtaind.and subsequent Settlement. We the said Ju-
stices are therefore of Opinion, and do adjudge thelast
legal Settlement of the said Eleanor Ball and her said
Six Childrento be in the said
Parish of St. Mary in the City of Chester aforesaid
and that thithertothey
ought by Law to be sent.

THESE are therefore in His Majesty's Name to re-
quire You to remove and convey the said Eleanor Ball together
with the said William Robert, Charles, Judith Sarah and
John her said Six Children
from and out of your said Parish of St. Dunstan in the West
London, to the said Parish of St. Mary
in the City of Chesterand them leave with
the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor there, or
one of them, who is and are hereby required to receive
and provide for themaccording to Law. Hereof sail
not, and this shall be your Warrant. Given under our
Hands and Seals the 18th.Day of JulyAnno
Domini 1724 .
