Middlesex to Wit


The Information of Joseph Borrett< no role >
and Thomas Wincott< no role > taken before me
this Eleventh Day of April 1789

Who being upon Oath say and first the said Joseph Borrett< no role >
for himself says that last Night about five o'Clock as
he this Informant William Birk wood< no role > and Thomas Wincott< no role > were coming out
of the Roman Catholic Chapel in Duke Street Lincolns
Inn Fields , a person now present who calls himself
EdwardLary< no role > was standing in the front of the Chapel
who immediately seized Birk wood by the Collar and upon this
Informant remoustrating with the Prisoner, he immediately
quitted Birk wood and struck this Informant several
Blows, and upon this Informants endeavouring to get
away from his he snatched at his Watch Chain and
with great Violence drew the Watch from his Pocket
that the Watch seperated from the Chain and fell
on the Ground and the Chain remained in the Prisoners
handThat the prisonermade several
other Blows at this Informant and then dropt the
Chain, which this Informant took upthat the
Prisoner then made off, but was watched by
the Informant and his Friends into a Public
House near Clare Market where he was
taken into Custody by the Constable
