Farguson< no role > and James Southgate< no role > , Taken upon Oath
before me George Reid < no role > Esqr . one of This Majesty's Justices of
the peace in and for the said County this 8th. day of Janry.
1789 .

First this Informant Ann a Humphries
upon her Oath saith that she hath every reason to
suspect that a Man who calls himself by the Name
of John Wilson< no role > did on Wednesday the 7th. day of Janry
Inst. feloniously taken and Cary a way from her a Guineas
in Gold Nine Shillings in Silver, a Silver Thimble & a
Black Pettycoat the Property of her this said Informant

Secondly Thomas Farguson upon his Oath saith that
about the hour of Eight in the Evening of Wednesday the
7th. Inst. he was at a Public house called and known
by the sign of the Black horse in Shug Lane in the
said County and saw the above named Anna Humphries< no role >
and the Prisoner come into the aforesaid house and
drink together and after Sitting down some little time
he saw the Prisoner Put his hand in her Pocket and draw it out again after which heand
wasattempting to gogoing out of doors, when this deponent
asked him where he was going and some Suspicion
arising he caught hold of him, and took the Petty coat
from him and asked where the change of the
Half Guinea was which he had received at the
bar of the said house he said he had got it and
that it was his own Property he this deponent
then went for a Constable and had him secured
upon suspicion of committing the said Robbery
And further this deponent saith that the pettycoat
now Produced is [..] the Identical Pettycoat he
took from the Prisoner and which Proves to better
