ordered part of which he drank that he called for a Pipe of
Tobacco sat himself down upon a Chair an went to sleep that when
he awakened he found himself lying upon the Bed but cannot till how he came there that he
immediately got up the prisoner Elizabeth Carpenter< no role > led
him down Stairs and he beleives Mrs. Price the Lanlady
of the House conducted him to the Door

William Cooke< no role > for himself saith that he is one of the
Watchmen belonging to the Parish of St. Giles in the Fields
& Watches at the Top of Drury Lane the Top of Holborn &
Broad Street that on Friday the Ninth Day of October Instant
about three o Clock in the Morning James Valentine< no role > came to
his Box & two more Watchmen along with him & said
Watchman some along with me I have been robbed of nine
Guineas & an half and my Watch that they went together
along Broad Street St. Giles's to the House of Mr. Price &
knocked at the Door Wch. was Immediately opened he then
told the other two Watchmen to stand close at the Door & he
went along with Mr. Valentine up Stairs that they went
up three pair of Stairs into a back Garrett when they came
there no Person was in the Room the Prisoner Elizabeth
Carpenter
< no role > being gone into Bed to another Woman in the front
Garrett Mr. Valentine then said Watchman dout be in too great
a Hurry let us search the Bed Perhaps my Money may be
on the Bed that they pulled all the Cloaths of such Bed but
found only one Halfpenny & two small Peices of paper that
they then went into the front Garrett when Mr. Valentine went
to the Bed Side & putting his Hand to wds. the Prisoner Elizth.
Carpenter said Watchman that is the Woman who was
