< no role > at his Yard in Broad Street in the Hamlet of Ratcliff
in the parish of Saint Dunstan Stepney in the said County. John
Bloom
< no role > Servant to the said William Peterson< no role > and George Cowell< no role >
Lodger at No. 4 Blue Gate Fields St. George Middlesex Bricklayer
Taken this 18th. day of February 1783 before me One of his Majestys Justices
of the pence in and the said County.

Who being on their Oaths severally Say and first the said
William Peterson< no role > for himself Saith that the Iron Hoops now
produced found in the possession of the prisoner present who says
her Name is Robert Deary< no role > are the property of Mr James Mather< no role > This name instance is in set 2549.
and weretakenfromin the Yard of the said James Mather< no role > This name instance is in set 2549.
Situate in Broad Street in the Hamlet of Ratcliff in the Parish
of Saint Dunstan Stepney in the County aforesaid,And the
said John Bloom< no role > for himself Saith that between Six and seven
O Clock this Evening he saw the said Robert Deary< no role > in Mc. Mathers
Yard aforesaidwithhaving the Iron Hoops produced on his Shoulders
that the Stopped the said Robert Deary< no role > who immediately
threw the Iron Hoops down and ran away. And the said
George Cowell< no role > for himself saith that between the hours of six
and seven O Clock as he was Coming through Broad Street he
saw the prisoner Deary come out of the said Mr. Mathers Yard as above
mentioned pursued by Informant Bloom. who Cryed out Stop
Thief. That he pursued and took the prisoner. when the Informant
Bloom came up and Charged him with having taken and Stole the said
Hoopsfromin Mr. Mathers Yard as abovementioned.

Robert Deary< no role > saith he came from the other side of the Water in
aboat with a Young fellow named Hans aforeigner that they landed at
the Wharf where he had the Hoops produced given to him by the Said
Hans who is soon as John Bloom< no role > stopt him his said Companion
run away
