The Information of George Tovey< no role > of Great Ealing Astler
taken upon Oath before me William Hyde< no role > Esqr one of Their Majesties
Justices of the Peace for the said County who being duly sworn saith
that on the fourth Day of December Instant about seven o'clock in
the Executing he was at the sign of the red lion Great Ealing at which time
a person now present who calls himself Thomas Jones< no role > was there who
called out this Informant and said he would lend him two Shillings
and compelled this Informant to receivetake two Shillings from him
Bay then returned into the sd Public House and Seen After the sd
Thomas Jones< no role > called this Inst. out again and said to this Inst. will
you be stanch to me this Inst. asked him what he was going at
that the sd. Thomas Jones< no role > Ansr Is han't tell you Just yet One Inst
said Johant go with you untill you tell me whatyou are going
at, That the sd. Jones then said he knew of a Gardiner that had seven
Shirts and Nine Guineas this Inst. asked where and the sd Jones
ansr. it was some distance off but did not chuse to tell where
they then returned to the sd Public House and this Inst. knowing
William Taylor< no role > a Constable of that Parish was then in another
room in the sd Public House he went and told him all that
had passed, that this Inst, desired the sd constable to follow him
this Inst. and the sd Jones and Watch where they went, that they
[..] called at several Public Houses going along and
at the sign of the Chaise and Horse at Hammersmith the said
Jones gave this Inst. six pence to bay some Liner to give to the
Yard Dog (named Pompey) to keep him quick, That this Inst, [..]
thought it was Improper and told the sd Jones he could not get any
that they then went on the Road through Hammersmith
Turnpike and turned off at the Hand and Flower near Read
Turnpike went through the Berckfield, to when the sd Jones
get over a Pailling about Elven o'Clock in the Evening this
Instr. then got under the sd Pailing when the sd Jones turned
round and said to this Inst. "Damn your Eyes come along
and if you dont it and Hannek all cut your throat that
the sd Jones turned round the comer of a High wall and this inst
saw no more of him through he waited about the said Wall with
the Constable and three other Men untill two o'Clock in the
Morning, and this Inst further saith that the sd Jones had with him
a stick at the time he apply'd to him at the sd Redlion and at
the Time he last sight of him at the Corner of the well and which is
the same stick now produced by Thomas Johnston< no role >
