The Information of William Trundel< no role > at the Lower Watergate Deptford
in the County of Kent Butcher taken this Ninth day of August One
Thousand Seven hundred Eighty Eight before me One [..] His Majestys Justices
of the Peace in and for the said County Who being on his Oath saith on the sixth of Augt
Instant between the Hours of Five and Seven in the Afternoon being near the sign of
the Red Lion a Public house near the Watch house of Sr George Middlesex he saw the
persons present who say their Names are Mary Short< no role > and Mary Bell< no role > who he
asked if they would have any thing to drink That they all three went into the Sud Public [..]
had a Quarters of BoundySays he had [..] Six Silk handkerchiefs his property of
the Value of Thirty Shillings in a paper on the Table of a Box on the eight hand side going
into said house Says he got up to pay for the Brandy when the said Mary Short< no role >
and Mary Bell< no role > got up went away tho' he had challenged them with having taken his said
handkerchiefs and that he has not a doubt Mary Short< no role > and Mary Bill< no role > stole
his said handkerchiefsAnn Davis< no role > servant to John Gray< no role > of St. George [..]
Victualer on her Oath saith On Wednesday last about Five or six of the Clock
in the afternoon William Saundel Mary Short< no role > and Mary Bill< no role > came into her
Masters house had a Quarters of Boundy which she carryed to them that she
saw apaper parcell [..] marked with Sealing was lay on the Table Says
Trundell charged them with taking his handkerchiefs And whilst he was paying
for the Brandy both said Women went out and that she went with John
Carpenter
< no role > to apprehend them the next morning

Mark Short< no role > saith on Wednesday last about Five or Six of the Clock in the afternoon
as she and Mary Bell< no role > was looking at some thing in a Pawnbroker Window William
Trundle
< no role > asked them if they would drink that they went into the Red Lion Public house
near and had a Quartern of BoundryThat Soundle said her had [..] er handkerchief
at home than those in the pawnbroker Window whit he had brought home is certain
there was not any paper percal on the Table Says Trundle put his hand to his pocket
said One of You Women has robbed me of my handkerciefs That she as Red Lion
how that could be when he had said he left his handkerchiefs as home whist he danged
that they disputed about the Reckoning with the said Wm. Soundle and went away informing
the Mistress of the house were they lived if wanted
