The information of Henry Reyell a Waterman employed by
the Commissioners of his Majestys Customs for the Port of London
who on his Oath saith - that his business is to Row in a Boat
with John Barnham< no role > his Partner under the direction of Mr.
Richard Batchelder< no role > one of the Supervisor of the Coal Meters
that on the 8th. Day of August last he received orders from his
said Master Richard Batchelder< no role > to Work in a New Boat then
lately built by Mr. Thomas Bodman for that purpose that he
continued to work in the said Boat with B [..] ranham his
partner until Saturday the 22d. Day of March last about
five o Clock in the Evening when he Stowed her (that is to
say) fastened her with a Chain and Lock to a Ships Yawl laying
Moored to a Floating stage at Mr. Bodman Wharfethat on
the next Morning he discovered the Boat had been Stolen
away by some person in the nightthat he immediately
informed his Master - who ordered this informant together
with John Barnham< no role > to make deligent Search after her-
the further information of Henry Russell< no role > and John B [..] ranham
who on their Oaths say that in Consequence of Orders from
their Master Richard Batchelder< no role > they went Both sides of
the Thames from Gravesend to Wandsworth and searched
every Creek they could find without effectbut they did
not know of any Creek near Ranelagh Gardens until they
were informed of it since the said Boat has been found
in itthey further say that on Sunday last the 13th Instant
they saw the said Boat at Mr Bedmans - and tho she is
Painted of a differant colour they are very sure it is the
same Boat Stolen away from Mr. Bodmans Stage in the
Night between the 22d: and 23d of March last
