The Information and Voluntary Confession of Elizabeth Durant< no role >
Admitted an Evidence on his Maiestys Behalf against Mary Bateman< no role >
and Elizabeth Sully< no role > this 23d. day of April 1788 by me John Staples< no role > Esqr
one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace in and for the said County
Who being or her Oath saith that on Saturday night last about the
hour of nine Informant and Mary Bateman< no role > Decoyed James Palmer< no role >
into a House of Ill Fame Situate in long Alley in the Parish of Saint
George Middlesex that Informant went up Stairs with the said James
Palmer
< no role > was upon the Bed with him about ten Minutes when they came down
Stairs and said James Palmer< no role > gave Elizabeth Sully< no role > who kept the said House
a Shilling to fetch some Gin afterwards the said James Palmer< no role > went up
Stairs with Mary Bateman< no role > Informant followed to the Door pushed it a
Little open saw them Both upon the Bed and also saw the said Mary Bateman< no role >
take the Watch produced out of the Pocket of the said James Palmer< no role > and lay
it upon the Bed the said James Palmer< no role > and Mary Bateman< no role > came down Stairs
to [..] her and Mary Bateman< no role > gave the Watch to Elizabeth Sully< no role > and did not See
[..] the man any more until Sunday Morning

Mary Bateman< no role > says James Palmer< no role > gave her the said Watch for to take
care of it that she laid it on the Table and went out for a Candle and when
she came back she did not see it nor did she take away Notice and that it
was Elizabeth Durant< no role > who told her the watch was in the Bed

Elizabeth Sully< no role > says Elizabeth Durant< no role > brought James Palmer< no role > into her
house on Saturday night last about the hour of nine Mary Bateman< no role > following says
she went and fetched Six penny worth of Gin and that Durant went up stairs with
Palmer that she knows nothing about the Watch nor did she ever see it
before it was in the possession of the Constable
