Saint Giles in the fields That being upon duty about
half past 5. o Clock this Morning near Dyot Street
he saw the said Elizabeth Aires< no role > and Ann Wood< no role > Coming
out of Dyot Street and Seeing a Mans Blue Coat
in the Apron of the Prisoner Aires he Stop'd her
and asked her what She had got The Prisoner
Wood answered and said She had got her
Husbands Coat and She was going to Carry it to her
Husband who was a Taylor in Cross Lane That he
then had Suspicion the Coat was Stolen and Took
them both before the Officer of the Night
The said Edward Tredway< no role > for himself Saith
That he is a Constable and was the Officer of the Night
at Saint Giles's Watchhouse last Night That
the Watchman brought the Two prisoners before him
about half past 5 o Clock this Morning and he Searched
Them and upon the Prisoner Wood he found the pair
of Velvet Breeches now produced which were concealed
under her pettycoats upon which he detained them both
