Saint Giles's and the said Diana Beckford< no role > went with
them to the House of John Barnes< no role > who keeps a Shop for
Selling Cloaths and other Goods in Broad Street Saint
Giles That there he saw a Giles in the Shop and
asked for the Mistress and she was Called up but [..]
[..] before the Mistress of the House Came
he saw some Handkerchiefs lying between and
Window and the Counter which he Suspected were
the Handkerchiefs that were Stolen and then went
Round the Counter and took them and the prisoner said
They were the same Handkercheifs That Mrs. Barnes
then Came into the Shop and she acknowledged to
Buying the Handkercheifs and that she gave Seven
Shillings for them but that she did not buy them of
the prisoner she bought them of anther Woman
and the prisoner was present That he then Second
the property and they have not been but of his Possession
since

The said Eleanor Barnes< no role > for herself Saith
That about the hour of 5. o'Clock in the afternoon of
Thursday last Two women Came to her Shop (one of
whom has bought Cloaths at her House) and the other
was the prisoner They said they had got Two Handkerchiefs
for Sale She asked them how they came by them
the [..] Woman who is not in Custody said she had
them of a Gentleman who had no Money and who gave
her the said Handkercheifs instead of money That
the said Woman then pulled out Four more and
told her the same Story and asked her to buy them
That she then put on the Counter Seven Shillings
