Taken the 14th. day of
May 1787
Who upon their Oaths severally say and first the said
John Thomas< no role >
for himself Saith That on Thursday
last between the hours of Eleven and Twelve oClock in
the day he went with a woman now in Custody who
says her Name is Diana Beckford< no role >
to a public House
in Parker Street
Saint Giles's
called the Cheshire Cheese
That they drank together a great Quantity of Ale and
afterwards he went with her to a Apartment at the
next door That he there had Connection with her
and afterwards the said Diana Beckford< no role >
came up to
him as he was Sitting in a Chair and took out of his
Right hand Coat Pocket Nine Cotton Handkerchiefs
and went away and as she was going he Called to her
and told her not to go away with his property She said
She should be back again in a Minute That he
waited there sometime but she did not come back
but in about Two hours afterwards the woman was
taken into Custody That the Handkerchiefs now
produced are his property and the same that were
Stolen aforesaid

for himself saith
That he took the said Diana Beckford< no role >
into Custody
when she That the prosecutor had sworn falsely for it
was not her that Took the Handkerchiefs it was another
woman and said That they were Sold at a Shop in
