of Middlesex
This Informant Nicholas Francis Backman< no role >
on his
Oath Saith That there hath been lately stolen from off
his house and Premisses in Fashion street
Spitalfields
a quantity
of Gutter and other Lead to the amount in the whole of about
One hundred weight his Property and that a quantity
of lead now produced by John Law< no role >
and William
Tucker< no role >
he verily believes to be his property he
having compared the same to his Premisses from where
the same was taken from

saith That he
is a Servant
Mr. Beckman [..] of Fashion street
Spitalfields
Sugar Manufacturer
and that on Tuesday
morning the Twenty second day of May Instant [..]
between two and three O'Clock the morning he then
being in bed at his Masters house he was called to
by William Tucker< no role >
his Fellow Servant
who told
him that a man was on the house he accordingly
put on some of his Cloaths and they both opened
the Bed room door which was nearly even to the
Gutter on the house and there they saw John
Leaper< no role >
the Prisoner now under Examination
on the Top of the Warehouse in the Gutter this
Examinant than struck at him and told him he
[..] him into Custody, the Prisoner then said
Dam'n your Eyes you Begger you lie then this
Informant Stuck him with a Stick he had in his
hand on which the Prisoner fell down and rolled
himself off the Premisses and this Informant followed
him down, and others of his fellow Servants coming
to his Assistance he was secured and delivered
up to the Patrole of Spitalfields
who took him
in the morning before the Magistrates at the Public
office Shoreditch
