for the said County this 4th. day of February 1786

This Informant upon his Oath saith that about
four years ago he was bound Apprentice
to Thomas Sparkes< no role >
of Finch Lane
Cornhill
Chimney Sweeper
that about Two
Years ago he was let out to the Prisoner Samuel Bishop< no role >
by
his said Master at the rate of [..] Three Shillings per Week and
that he hath continued with the said Samuel Bishop< no role >
ever Since
that he always went out with the said Samuel Bishop< no role >
to
gather in Soot early in the morning and that for about
Three Weeks last past the said Samuel Bishop< no role >
hath made
it a Practice to Steal the Alehouse Pots from the Doors
of the Several Houses where they were placed in order that
that the owners might get them in That all the Potts
now produced have been Stolen in the manner aforesaid
since Tuesday morning last And this Informant further
saith that the said Samuel Bishop< no role >
melted them down
generally in a Frying Pawn and sold the Pewter
at an Iron Shop in Cow Cross Street
near West Smithfield
