Who upon their Oaths severally say And first the
said John Gardner< no role >
for himself Saith That he is one of
the patroles
of the parish of Saint Giles in the fields
and about 3. o Clock this Morning being on his duty in High
Street
Saint Giles's
he heard a Noise and suspecting that
some persons were breaking into a House he with some
assistance of his partner Cand Watchman went to the
place from whence the Noise was heard when they saw
a Man with a large quantity of Lead upon his back
upon which they followed him and he Threw the head
down and endeavoured to make his Escape but they
pursued him and took him into Custody and
says his Name is Cornelius Crone< no role >
And this Informant William Tomkinson< no role >
for himself Saith That he is Servant
or Journeyman
to Joseph Kirkman< no role >
of Tottenham Court road

That about the about half past 6. o Clock on Tuesday
Morning last he came to work at some Buildings
which adjoined to the Dwelling of Elizabeth Bell< no role >
in High
Street
St Giles's
That a large Quantity of Lead which
was taken from such Building was put into the
said Mrs. Bells Dwelling House for safe Custody
and when he came there as aforesaid the House appeared
to him to have been broken open and upon Examination
he found the House had been broken open and great
Quantity of Lead Stolen and that the Lead produced is
