before me one of his Majestys Justices of the Peace
for the County of Middlesex
Who on his Oath Saith That on Sunday the first day of October
Instant between seven and Eight OClock at night he having
in Company with him his wife and Mr William Starr< no role >
was
coming in Captain Strovers Coach from Dalston
in the Parish
of Hackney
towards St. Leonard Shoreditch
, they were met
between Dalston
and Kingsland Turnpike
by two men on
Horseback, one of themwhoordered the Coachman to stop and presented
a pistol to him, the other man came to the Coach door
and demanded their money or he would have their Lives
with making use of many horr'd Expressions, on which
Mr. William Starr< no role >
delivered to the man at the Coach door, his
Watch and some money, he demanded then Mrs. Starrs watch
and money, she declared on her Honor she she no [..]
watch, he then said your money. Quick she then delivered
money to him, He then said to this Examinant now
your Watch and money or your Life, Examinant [..]
hessitated a short time and Mr. Starr said give him the
Watch or he will Murder us, and Mr. Starr pulled at,
Examinants Watch in order to give it him and on pulling
the same the Key came off but being surprized is not
certain [..] whether Mr: Starr or himself delivered his
Watch but it was delivered and Examinant delivered his
money to the man at the Coach door, which he believes
was about Ten or twelve shillings in silver and Whilst
the man was at the Coach door the other mancame
who stopped the Coach first came up to the Coach door
with a Pistol and made use of many [..] Oaths and threatened
their Lives.
