, Taken before me
this 11th day of September 1786
Who being upon Oath, saith that this Morning about half part
Six o'Clock, as he was laying in Bed in his Apartments in Wych Street
[..] aforesaid, he heard a noise in another Room on the said Floor
that he immediately got up, at which time he saw two Men come out
of said Room whom he pursued and Seemed one of them, a Person
now Present who calls himself George laid, and further saith upon
going into the Room which said Men came out of, he found there
had been stolen, a Mans that and two Silver Tea Spoons, this Informant
property, and that he is very saw that about half past Eleven oClock
last Nights he look'd the Door of said Room and left it Secure, and
doth verily believes that the said George Card< no role >
feloniously Stole the
said Hat and two Tea Spoons as aforesaid
