The Information of John Williams< no role > of
No. 1 Orange Court Drury Lane Shipwright
taken this 28th. day of October 1786 .

Who being on Oath saith That he hath known the Prisoner
now present and calling himself James Parker< no role > about June Months
That being informed that the Prisoner sold counterfeet Money he desired
one Fleming to tell the Prisoner that he should be glad to meet him
and they accordingly met on Saturday the 21st. of October last at the
Blue Posts in Cockpit Alley Drury Lane where this Informant
asked the Prisoner has Business went on to which the Prisoner replied
"that he had some of the best things in England" (meaning Sixpences and Shillings) which
were equal to Sterling That this Informant then told the Prisoner
that he might have an Order for some by Monday When the
Prisoner replied that he wright have a quarter of a Piece (meaning
a quarter of a Guinea) at four o'Clock that afternoon That Informant
agreed to meet the Prisoner at that time to receive the same but
that if he (thisPrisonerInformant) was not punctual theInformationPrisoner was to
send for himWhich he [..] did about half an
Hour past four o'Clock on the same dayThat this Informant
then asked him if he had brought "the thing" and the Prisoner replied
that he hadThat Informant told him that he had not the Money
about him, but would fetch it, and accordingly came to the Brown
Bear , and mentioned the Matter to Thomas King< no role > who gave him
six Shilligns to purchase the counterfeit SilverThat Informant
Returned to the Prisoner at the blue Posts and gave him Five
Shillings for the counterfeit Silver now produced which the
Prisoner called a quarter of a piece amounting to sixteen six
penceswhich is after the Rate of two and thirty Shillings for a
GuineaThat after this they parted and agreed to meet again
on Monday when the Prisoner was to bring this Informant an half
piece to the Blue Posts when this Informant gave information
to John Atkins< no role > who apprehended him.
