Saith That there are Rooms ever the Slaughter House
let to different persons and under the Stairs leading
to those Rooms Mrs. Hughes had concealed herself
Deponent desired her to come out. Saith he believes
she was sitting under the Stairs under he desired
she came out from under them seemed much
frightened & asked Deponent what was the
matter he told she knew very well and asked
her how she came to do their (meaning to kill her
Sister) She stood some time without makeing
any Answer in a kind of an amaze and
Cromble Saith that Pilne asked her how she
could he such a wicked Woman She said She
believed the Devil had done it the Devil was
in her After this Deponent got ever the Wall.
into his Yard & went into his House Saith
that the said Mrs. Hughes could not in the time
after he first heard Mrs. Hawkins scream have
got into the Slaughter House any otherway
there by crossing the Wall into him Yard and
then over the other Wall to the slaughter House
Saith that Mrs. Hughes sometime in the last Week
had some valerian Root of him for Tea which is
esteemed a good thing forthelow Spirits and New our
complaints
