Middlesex to wit

The Examination of John Goodwin< no role > Charged by
William Peter Marshall< no role > with being quilty of
Felony in the Parish of Saint Clement Dane in
the said County taken before me this 1st. day
of November 1784

This Examinant saith that he did not break and
enter the Dwelling House of the said William Marshall< no role >
on the 28th. day of October last with intent to commit
felony therein, but that his Reason for getting at the
Top of the shed or Washhouse of the saidWilliam Peter Marshall< no role >
was in order to get down his Hat which had been Just
before thrown upon said Shed or Washhouse by a Woman
whom this Examinant doth not know
