Keeping Awake longer then usual Goodridge & Coud
not obtain the Heys & Evans went home & left
me with Goodridge that abt. 3 oClock Goodridge
possess'd himself of the Key's from Mr. Sawtel and
opend the Eserntore in the parlour but to his Great
Surprize could not find the key of the Iron Chest
and after Drinking Tea I went home abt. 4 o Clock
when he said he wod. look After the Hey himself in a
few day's after; Dept calling as usual at Evan's
was by them informed that they Belewed Slack had
possessed himself of the Hey of the Iron Chest; but that
ferring it wod. too late to delay any longer; that
Evan's had procured a Man to Make a Key thereof
which was almost finish'd & desired I wod. Attend on
a parlar Night (wch this Dept. cannot) remember
but Attend'd & was informed by Evan's the Key would
not then do. but wod. be ready by the Next Night he
Goodridge set up That sd.DeptGoodridge came
to this Dept. Chambers & inform'd him the Key wod. then
do and Desired I wod. be at Evan's by 8 oClock when
I shod. know wether he set up that Dept. went to Evans
at the time Appointed & was desired to Call again Abt.
12 that Dept. went home & returned at the time
Appointed to Evans's and with him went to Mr. Sawtels
house & was by Goodridge again let In when With
the Key that Goodridge had procured to be made he Open'd the
Iron Chest situate in a Back room or Closet in
the Parlour and Took thereout a will sealed wh in
a Cover on which Cover was Wrote That last Will &
Testament of Mr. Thos. Sawtel< no role > & which Cover was broke
open Ale parker namely Nathaniel Goodridge< no role > James Evans< no role > and Deponent having a hand therein: & a Copy of
wch will was Immed y Wrote by me in the parlour
and the will again Deposited in its Cover and again
