September 1784
Who being on their Oaths say and first the said Sarah Chapman< no role >
for herself saith that there were Stolen from out of an Out house
in her Garden on Sunday Evening last one Counterpain and
a Flounced Flowred petticoat and that she verily believes the Counterpain &
Petticoat now produced are her property and the same
that were so Stolen from her as aforesaid
And the said William Witherick< no role >
for himself saith that he is a
Watchman that about three quarters of an Hour after twelve
on the Night of Sunday last [..] in Rosemary Lane

he Stopped the person now present who calls himself
Benjamin Taylor< no role >
with a Bundle which contained the Counterpain
and Petticoat now producedinand the said Benjamin Taylor< no role >
not giving a Satisfactory Account of himself he this Informant took
him to White Chapel
Watchhouse and delivered him and [..]
the things into the Custody or care of the Officer then on duty there.
