The Information of William Penn< no role > and
Herbert Pocock< no role > taken on Oath the fifth
day of June 1784 before me one of his
Majestys Justices of the Peace for the
County of Middlesex .

This Informant William Penn< no role > on his Oath Saith
That on Monday the Thirty first day of May lastabout
in the Evening his Dwelling house at a place called
the Broad Place in the Parish of Saint Matthew< no role > Bethnal
Green was broke open and Robbed of the following
things (to wi) One looking Glass in a Walnut Tree frame
Gilt in the Edge inside, One Flowered Linnen Gown,
One Linnen Counterpane, One Brown Camlet Gown,
One Mans brown Coat, One Linnen sheet, four Brass,
Candle sticks and other things the property of the said
William Penn< no role > And further Saith that, one Brown Camlet
Gown, One Mans brown Coat, one Linnen sheet, and
four Brass Candlesticks is his property and part
of the things so mentioned to be stolen from him as
aforesaid which is now produced by Pell Stutter< no role > a
Peace Officer.

This Informant Herbert Pocock< no role > on his Oath Saith
that on Monday the Thirty first day of May last
about half an hour after Nine O'Clock in the Evening
(he being a Lodger to the above named William Penn< no role > )
he was then coming home to his Lodging, and when
he Came there he formed the sheet door and the
Kitchen door of the said House quite open, he
immediately went into the house expecting to have
found his Landlord there, but on looking into the
Kitchen door he there saw William Prudence< no role > the
Prisoner under Examination looking into the drawers
which was then open, This Informant immediately
seized the Prisone William Prudence by the Collar
and they had a struggle together, but the Prisoner
being too powerful for him he loosed himself and
ran out of Door with a Bundle in his lap in a
Brown Linnen Apron, This Informant pursed
him and called out stop thief, and further
Saith that the said William Prudence was not out
