Taken this 9th Day of July 1784 before us

in and for the said County
Who being upon Oath saith that about nine OClock in the Evening of Saturday
the third day of July Instant he was stept in a field near
a place called Spices Island in the Hamlet of Mile End
Old Town
in the said County by two men who demanded
his Money or his lifeThat one of the said two men
immediately put a Pistol to his head, while the other
put his hand in his right hand breeches pocket and fercibly
took from thence a Six pence. Informant having at that
time no more Money in the said Pocket, when they
laid held of his Arm and ordered him to walk off
which he accordingly did and had gone but a very
little distance when lifting up his hat which the said two
men had pulled over Informants face he saw the said two
persons and after they had robbed him Informant went
back to the said Thomas Scott< no role >
: and they in Company with
another person pursued them as far as Whitechapel
Workhouse
where they lost them.And this Informant further
Saith that he believes a Pistol now produced and found
in the possession of William Rellions< no role >
now here present
is the same Pistol which was held to his head as abovementioned
And lastly this Informant saith that he is positive as
to the said William Rulliens< no role >
being one of the said two men
who stopped him as aforesaid and was the actual person who
by force and violence took from him the six pence in manner
as above set forth.
