Middlesex to wit.

The Information of Magdalen Martin of No. 51
Poland Street< no role > , and Francis Bailey< no role > and Josiah Upham< no role >
of Saint Martin in the Fields [..] Watchmen
taken before me this 20th.. Day of July 1784.

Who being on Oath say and first the said Magdalen Martin
says, that a considerable Quantity of Wearing Apparell now
produced by the said Francis Bailey< no role > and Josiah Upham< no role > , is
her property, and was stolen in her House Poland Street
between the hours of eight and twelve o'Clock in the Evening of
the 2nd.. of July instant. And the said Francis Bailey< no role > says
that between 11 & 12 that Night he stopped a Person now present
who calls himself Peter Le' Roche in Oxendon Street, with all
the Wearing apparell now produced on his Shoulders. That after
asking him a few Questions he followed him, till meeting with said
Upham who laid hold of said Le' Roche in the Haymarket , when
he dropped the Bundle. And the said Josiah Upham< no role > says
that he joined said Bailey in following said Le' Roche at the
time aforesaid in the Haymarket , and after asking him a few
Questions how he came by said Bundle, he laid hold of him,
when Le' Roche threw the Bundle down and was secured by
the said Francis Bailey< no role > and this Informant.
