us this 26th. day of July 1784
Who being upon Oath say and first the said Daniel Clegg< no role >
for himself says that two Saw several Planes an Axe and other
Carpenters Tools now produced are his property, that last Saturday night
then in a Closet on the two pair of Stair floor in a house in
Prescott Street where he had been at Work and finds that the
said Closet has been since broken open and the said Tools stolen,
and the Said Gregory Spurgin< no role >
and William Wills< no role >
for themselves
says that last Saturday Night about nine o'Clock being informed
that there was Reason to believe that some Thief had got into the
said House these Informants entered the said House and after
some Search found a Person now present who calls himself
John Johnson< no role >
in the [..] Ground floor Passage of the said House, and either
in the front parlour of the Passage
they found a Basket containg
Carpenter Tools which they believe to be the same Tools now
produced, and the said John Harry< no role >
for himself says that he
carried the said Basket of Tools from the said House to his
Master's Shop
& verily believes them to be the same Tools now
produced, And these Informants do verily believe that the
said John Johnson< no role >
stole the said Tools out of the said Closet
and carried them down stairs to the Place where they were found
