taken before me this 21st. day of
July 1784
Who being upon Oath says that last Night about 9 o'Clock
a person now present who calls himself John Hancock< no role >
came to his
House with Basket in his Hand and bought a Glass of Geneva at the Bar, that being told
afterwards by his servant that the said John Hancock< no role >
was gone
into the Yard he this Examinant watched the Door and saw the
said John Hancock< no role >
come out of the Yard with Basket in his
hand now produced, that on this Informant desiring him to stop
the said John Hancock< no role >
ran away and this Informant pursued
him for about a hundred Yards or more when the said John
Hancock< no role >
threw down the Basket and this Informant found
it to certain nine Pewter Pots thisExaminantsInformants Property,
which the said John Hancock< no role >
had stolen, that the said John
Hancock< no role >
was stopped and brought to this Informant after
he had run a short Distance from the Place where he dropt
the Basket and this Informant is very certain that he is
the same identical Person
