The Information of Ralph Clay< no role > of Present Street
Goodmans Fields Tobacca Merchant Thomas
Hooper
< no role > of Coventry Street Piccadilly yeoman
and Matthew Briggs< no role > a Minor taken this
15th. day of July 1784

Who being on their Oatts say And frist the said
Ralph Clay< no role > for himself saith that the Quantity of Tobacco now produced [..]
weighing about four pound and one half is
the property of him this Informant and which he
found in the possession of the person now present
who says his Name is William Shelburn which
Tobacca he believes was Stolen out of his Warehouse
in Goodsmans Fields between two and three o'
Clockthis Dayin the afternoon of this day
The said Thomas Hooper< no role > for himself saith
that he is the Kings Locker at the aforesaid
Warehouse That this afternoon being in the
Counting House at the said Warehouse the other
Informant Matthew Briggs< no role > came to him and
Informant him that two Men had gone out of said Warehouse with
Tabacco about them that he followed and
overtook the said William Shelburn and with
the Assistance of the said Ralph Clay< no role > who
came up to him he took the said Tabacco from between
the Shut and Skin of the said William Shelburn
And the said Matthew Briggs< no role > for himself saith
that he saw the said Willliam Shelburn come out of
the Warehouses belonging to the said Ralph Clay< no role >
with a Quantity of Tobacco as aforesaid that he went and Informed the
saidWilliam Thomas Hooker< no role > of the same and was
present when he was stopped and saw the
said TobaccoJametaken from him
