Saith that on the 19th. of this Instant April
Mr. John Griffin< no role >
recommended Mr. Thomas Squires< no role >
to him
to discount a Promissory Note, and Mr. Squires Recommended
John Burnell< no role >
the Prisoner to him this Informant, Mr. Squire
Mr. Burnell and this Informant met at the Treasurer Coffee
House
there being a great deal of Company there no Business
was done the Prisoner Burnell Pulling out of his Pocket book
a Number of Seemingly Bank Notes this Informant thought
the Business was to be done these but the Prisoner proposed going
to another Coffee House
accordingly they went to the Tilt Yard
Coffee House
, the Prisoner then Proposed going to a Cellar in
Spring Gardens
, in the said Cellar this Informant Pulled out
to his Pockett a Promissary Note of John Walker< no role >
for the Value
of forty one Pounds fifteen Shillings Payable to this deponent
this Informant Endorsed the said Note in the Presence of the
Prisoner and Mr. Squires and gave it over the Table into the
Stands of the Prisoner who was to give Cash for the said
Note Immediately to this Informant, Immediately the
Prisoner put the Note into his Pockett, went to the door and
went off without giving any Value for the said Note
