where Informant's Wife gave him 20 Guineas and
four Pieces of gold Coin of £3..12..0 each. That they all three
went to the Cheshire Cheese Alehouse opposite, Where Informant
gave the frist mentioned Man all said Money, by Moore's desire,
conditionally that this Informant should meet them the next Day
at Baxters at Charing Cross
with the Ring, and receive from
them all his said Money again together with £100 besides
as his Share of the Ring. That this Informant attended the
next Day at Baxter's but Said Moore nor said other Man
never came That Informant finds that said Ring is not worth
above Sixteen Shillings and does verily believe that said Moore
and the other Man conspired together to Rob this Informant of
his said Money. And the Said William Rode< no role >
says that on
Friday last this Informant apprehended said Humphry Moore< no role >
in Hungerford Market
for the Felony aforesaid, when said Moore
proposed sending for said John Field< no role >
, and to Settle the Matter-That
when Said John Field< no role >
came said Field asked Moore to return him
his Money when Moore replied that "He had only One Shilling and
"Some Halfpence; but that if Field would give him time he
"Would Send to his Friends to try if he could raise it, but
"was afraid he could not raise it all" That after some time
said Moore paid said John Field< no role >
