Who on their Oath say and first the said Robert Scott< no role >
says that as
he was going up the Two Shilling Gallery Stairs at Covent Garden
Theatre on Saturday Evening last a Person now present who calls
himself John Murphy< no role >
stood next him, and this Informant felt said
Murphy's right hand on their Informant right breeches pocket upon
which Informant put it away That said Murphy put his Hand
a second time on Informant Breeches and this Informant Thrust
it away; immediately upon which this Informant mifred his purce
out of his said breeches pocket containing a Guinea & some
Silver and does verily believe that said John Murphy< no role >
stole the
same And he said Henry Smallwood< no role >
says that he was
on the Two Shilling Gallery Stair at this time and upon seeing
said John Murphy< no role >
running down stairs, he laid hold of him
and searched him, but found nothing on him.
